I will be forever grateful to the peer support I received from Milli during my worst period of anxiety and manic depression.
I had become very stuck and was not sure where to turn for help. Not knowing Milli, I reached out to her after becoming aware of Motherly Love and asked for help. I was able to ask her so many questions, requests and support on where to seek psychiatric support.
She was completely non judgemental. And calmly provided me recommendations on psychiatrists, in and out patient group therapy options. She was available to me via WhatsApp and met me in person.
She also found my current therapist who I have seen for over a year.
I can concretely say that I would not have recovered as well as I have done now without Milli’s support.”

Milli is a lived experience practitioner and a former NHS peer support worker who has supported over 100 women during their perinatal mental health journey. She provides a compassionate, non judgemental, open space where you can explore your feelings in the knowledge that all information will be kept confidential (unless there are safeguarding concerns).
Bringing a wealth of experience, Milli has supported new mums at many different stages of their parenting journey, from pregnancy through up to 2 years post birth. Having recovered from her own maternal mental illness in 2018 she understands the challenges of being a parent whilst battling anxiety, depression or OCD and her aim is to give you hope that it can and will get better.
From her experience of providing and receiving peer support she knows the value of sharing with somebody who has walked in your shoes and how impactful it is having somebody validate your feelings without trying to fix you or provide solutions.
Applying a person centred approach, together you will decide how she can best support you - whether that is where the sessions take place - online, in your home, in a public place, on a walk - how often you want to see her and for how many sessions.
She can help you navigate the healthcare system to get you referred to the correct service or work with you to identify a suitable therapist if required, as well as providing relevant resources that will support your recovery.
