Counsellor + Psychotherapist

Website and Email

Gemma Capocci is an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working from Aldersbrook, E12 and at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill, offering both in-person and online sessions.

Finding a counsellor can feel daunting, however Gemma offers a warm, calm, non-judgemental space where you will work collaboratively together to gain a greater understanding of yourself and whatever challenges or difficulties are coming up for you at this time – past and present.

Gemma strongly believes that the relationship between therapist and client is key and will always strive to create an environment of safety and trust.

As an integrative counsellor, Gemma has been trained to use a range of theories and approaches that will help you to explore your problems in a unique and client-led way, supporting you to reach the best possible outcome at your own pace.

Gemma has a special interest in maternal mental health and has worked with mothers in a voluntary capacity for over three years.  She is now specialising in this field in her private practice, working with mothers who are struggling with feelings of failure and not being enough, overwhelm and stress, perfectionism, and loss of identity, which may or may not be tied to postpartum depression or anxiety.  Gemma is also interested in how childhood trauma and adversity shows up in parenting and how this is related to mental health struggles in the perinatal period.

Gemma welcomes babies under one in the therapy room.
